Our Tech Connect roundtable event series is an exclusive forum for senior IT professionals from Jersey Finance Member firms to come together in a collaborative environment under the Chatham House Rule.

Tailored to resonate with C-suite executives, including those at CTO, CIO, COO or Director of IT level, these events promise exclusive networking opportunities and discussions on pressing industry themes and trends.

This first event in the Tech Connect AI trilogy will focus on the architectural choices firms face when shaping their AI strategy The discussion will explore what is driving decisions in practice, what is working and where firms are encountering friction as they weigh control, cost, complexity and risk.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Danica Damljanovic, founder of Sentient Machines. An entrepreneur, PhD research scientist, and computer engineer with two decades of experience in AI and Natural Language Processing.

Structured as a facilitated roundtable rather than a formal presentation, the session will explore key decisions on knowledge handling, the transition to agentic workflows, strategic choices across frontier and open-weight models and Microsoft-centric vs. alternative tech stacks.

This is the first session in our trilogy, Making AI Work: Architecture, Integration, Governance. It will be followed by a discussion on the practical realities of integrating AI into existing systems, and then a final session on how firms run, govern and monitor AI once it’s live.

Dr Danica DamljanovicFounder, Sentient Machines

Dr Danica Damljanovic, founder of Sentient Machines. An entrepreneur, PhD research scientist, and computer engineer with two decades of experience in AI and Natural Language Processing. She worked with the SRI team that developed Apple’s Siri, before setting up Sentient Machines to build an advanced conversation analytics platform that analyses both voice and words in order to identify critical events and behaviours in your customer interactions, to reduce compliance risk, transform team productivity and customer loyalty. As an internationally recognised scientist Danica has published more than 50 publications, and a book on text analytics, cited over 2000 times.
